Welcome to JurisClear AI. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the JurisClear website and the AI-powered smart auditing service ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Service is operated by an individual developer ("Creator", "we", "us", or "our").

JurisClear is a technology platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to parse and highlight potential risks in documents. We are NOT a law firm, and the Service is NOT a substitute for an attorney or official legal advice. The insights, analysis, and generation of documents (such as disagreement protocols) provided by the Service are for informational purposes only. The Creator accepts ZERO legal, financial, or personal liability for any interpretation, use, or reliance upon the AI-generated results. You must always consult with a licensed legal professional before signing or rejecting any legal contract.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and checking the "I agree" box, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Purchasing and Payments (Merchant of Record)

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Lemon Squeezy. Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. They process the payments, manage refunds, and handle global tax (VAT) compliance. By purchasing a subscription or credits on JurisClear, you are also bound by Lemon Squeezy's terms and conditions regarding the financial transaction.

3. Subscriptions and Refunds

  • Accuracy of AI: Since the core service is based on probabilistic Language Models, the output may occasionally contain errors or "hallucinations". We do not guarantee 100% accuracy.
  • Refund Policy: For detailed information regarding refunds, billing errors, and our 14-day policy, please refer to our Refund Policy.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel your recurring subscription at any time via your billing dashboard. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

4. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE CREATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THIS SERVICE.

5. User Data and AI

You agree not to upload classified, strictly confidential, or illegal documents if you are not authorized to do so. While we employ strict data retention policies and do not use your data for global AI training, the internet inherently carries risks. We are not responsible for any breach of third-party NDAs that you might commit by using our Service.

6. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service:

  • For any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform unlawful acts
  • To violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances
  • To infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others
  • To submit false or misleading information
  • To attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the AI prompts or proprietary logic of the Service

7. Data Storage & Retention

JurisClear processes uploaded documents in memory only — we do not persistently store your original PDF/DOCX files on our servers. Analysis results (risk scores, summaries, and reports) are stored in your account dashboard for convenience and are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days. This data is not recoverable after deletion. We do not use Supabase Storage or any file storage system; all document processing is ephemeral.

8. Account Deletion & Data Portability

  • Right to Deletion (GDPR Art. 17): You may permanently delete your account at any time from the Settings page. This action will cancel any active subscriptions, erase your profile, analysis history, payment records, custom rules, and remove your authentication credentials. This process is irreversible.
  • Right to Data Portability (GDPR Art. 20): Before deleting your account, you may export all your personal data in a machine-readable JSON format from the Settings page.
  • No Refund on Voluntary Deletion: If you voluntarily delete your account while an active subscription period remains, no refund or pro-rated credit will be issued for the unused portion of the subscription term.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
